Carlos Gracie was the first Brazilian to learn Japanese Jiu-jitsu and now the Japanese then from the Gracie family. Carlos had to teach the US military Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and still till this day they are still teaching the US military and started this year to teach the United States Air Force. Carlos learned Japanese Jiu-jitsu from Mistsuyo Maeda Koma who was the best Japanese Jiu-jitsu fighter from Japan. Carlos and Koma became very close friends and after Carlos learned Japanese Jiu-jitsu he decided to teach it to his family. The way Carlos met Koma was by helping the Japanese establish living in Brazil. While Carlos was teaching his family he profected it and called in Gracie Jiu-jitsu. Carlos had an idea of passing Gracie Jiu-jitsu from generation to generation and teaching other people in the world. Now Carlos’ sons passed it down to there sons and daughters, and now they are passing it down to the new generation in the Gracie family.
